My Survival Series Pt9: The Journey To Yola

Written By Ike Ani on Tuesday 17 February 2015 | 10:41 am

We began to seek for ways to leave  Fufure Local government area that night. we asked questions about how to get a means  but all seemed abortive until we saw a trailer van which was being loaded with bags of  beans and maize. we talked at length with the men in charge narrating to them how we escaped and passed through cameroun in days to get to Fufure town that night. they had pity and got furious at the attitude of the driver who dropped us off.

They asked us to be patient as they load their vehicle. they assured us that some space will be reserved for us to occupy. we thanked them and waited with high optimism.

Few hours later, they were done so we and some other students made our way into the vehicle and left Fufure town that night. while moving, the vehicle had to spend the night a particular town due to the curfew imposed on that area. we slept again out there in the cold. we shared the hips of bags as beds. at least this night there was something to lay on unlike at the camerounian border. God's mercy was upon us as we all were able to rest peacefully irrespective of the stress and tiredness.

Early in the morning, we all woke up and had a devotional prayer together. the driver was set to move so we moved on with the journey. little by little we were moving and finally we got to Yola the state capital of Adamawa state Nigeria. we were dropped off. we thanked the driver for his kindness and collectively we all made our way to the motor park.

As we got to the park, we finally had to separate   with each other after almost a week of survival series of journey. it was painful but we all had our families to get to cause they all have been so worried about us. below are the names of all of us as a survival team right from the moment of the terrorist invasion till the the end of our survival journey;
